Samsung shipped 60.1 million smartphones in the first quarter, compared to Apple’s 50.1 million smartphones.

Thus, “Samsung’s” smartphone market share is almost 21%, and “Apple’s” is a little over 17%.

The number of smartphones delivered by “Apple” decreased by 9.6% compared to the quarter, while “Samsung” showed a decrease of less than 1%.

“Although “Apple” managed to gain the status of the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer at the end of last year, “Samsung” successfully regained it in the first quarter,” say analysts.

Meanwhile, Chinese companies “Xiaomi” and “Transsion” occupy the third and fourth places, respectively. The number of smartphones delivered by “Xiaomi” increased by about 33% and amounted to 40.8 million units in the first quarter, while “Transsion” registered about 85% growth, delivering 28.5 million smartphones.

IDC also says that a total of 289.4 million smartphones were shipped worldwide in the first quarter, up nearly 8% from a year earlier, marking the third consecutive quarter of growth.
