Samsung releases an update to the Galaxy S23 series with significant improvements to the camera

by time news

In light of the relative disappointment registered with the photographic capabilities of the Galaxy S23 series devices, Samsung has promised a significant improvement in a software update that will arrive towards the end of this month. And here, just before the deadline, the manufacturer offers for download an update that should indeed bring with it an upgrade to the photography capabilities of all three devices of the series.

The most significant change is that from now on, the camera’s default will be to prefer speed over precise focus. The device will save the image immediately after pressing the shutter button, even if the autofocus feature has not yet finished. This way you can take photos more quickly, while the quality will usually not suffer – although users who wish to return the situation to the way it was before will be able to do so through the settings of the photo application.

Additional changes should dramatically improve image stabilization during video recording, reduce the amount of “noise” in images taken in less than ideal lighting conditions, and provide sharper and cleaner images. When trying to take a photo in lighting conditions that do not allow this, a message will now appear on the screen notifying the user of this. There are also various bugs that have been fixed, among them a phenomenon that caused a green line to appear on the left side of the screen while taking pictures.

The update also includes the security patches for the Android operating system for the month of April. As of now, it is available to customers in South Korea, but it is likely that it will make its way to all markets in the coming days.
