Samsung will reportedly delay the Tab S9 family of tablets to 2023

by time news

Although the tablet market has seen quite a few launches of new tablets in recent months, including many new players in the market, this year’s expectation is for a decrease in 2022 of all tablet sales by about 8%, at least according to the market analysis company DSCC – and this despite the fact that it predicts that the luxury tablet niche will increase by about 22%, because the effect of this on the overall tablet market is small.

This is probably why Samsung has decided to postpone the launch of its next flagship series. According to a report by the Korean economic site The Elec, the Korean company decided due to the situation not to announce/launch the premium tablet series, Galaxy Tab S9, this December. Instead, it will review the situation for a possible launch during the first quarter of 2023, if not later.

As with the previous generation, Tab S8, the new generation of Samsung’s luxury tablets will consist of three devices, ultra, plus and basic – with the first two being equipped with OLED and/or microLED screens, while the basic model will be equipped with an IPS screen.

Samsung is still a long way from market dominance by Apple, but the expected sales of the Galaxy S8 series this year was about 400,000 Ultra units, about 900,000 Plus units, and about 1.2 million units of the basic tablet – but the actual results will probably be low More, and this is another reason for postponing the next generation.
