The history of San Martín dates back to 1974, when it began as a small neighborhood bakery in Guatemala City. At that time, the work team consisted of only four employees, and all processes were completely artisanal, a characteristic that is still present in much of the current production. Since those beginnings, San Martín has experienced impressive growth, becoming a benchmark for bakery and gastronomy both in Guatemala and abroad.
With more than 70 stores in Guatemala, El Salvador and the United Statesthe restaurant has proven to be a model of success. Over the years, San Martin has maintained a steady expansion, opening at least one store per year for the past four decades. The company reached an important milestone in 2018, when it opened its first store in the United States, a goal that seemed far away in its first years of operation.
