The Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum to be held from September 25 to 27 within the framework of the San Sebastian Film Festival has selected fifteen projects from eight different countries to be presented to society by their directors. Thus, they will have the opportunity to publicize their projects to potential international partners to complete their financing and improve their access to the market.

These are first or second films, chosen from among the 222 registered works, by artists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay. Among those who return to the Festival, after having participated in other sections, stand out Juan Pablo González, Ana Isabel Fernández de Alba and Sergio Castro San Martín.

Seven of the fifteen projects will be the first or second films of their directors. They return to the San Sebastian Festival with their new projects Juan Pablo González and Ana Isabel Fernández de Alba with Agua Caliente after presenting the first Two Seasons (Latin Horizons, 2022), which won the Best Performance Award in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section from the Sundance Festival, and who participated in the Forum in 2019 and in WIP Latam in 2022; and Sergio Castro San Martín, who has already been selected in the Forum with El gol más triste / The Saddest Goal (2017) and in WIP Latam with La mujer de barro / The Mud Woman (2014). In addition, they will participate for the first time in San Sebastián Florencia Colman with Nostalgia del futuro; Lucila Mariani with The free days; Alice Stamato and Val Hidalgo with Ninho Tinto; and Génesis Valenzuela, alumni of Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, with Tres balas.

For her part, the producer and director Bárbara Sarasola-Day, will be at the Forum for the first time as a director with the Little War project. In previous editions, as producer, it has presented films and projects in different sections of the Festival – for example Rojo (2018), by Benjamín Naishtat, in the Official Section, which won three awards; or Puán, by María Alché and Benjamín Naishtat, who will compete in the Official Selection this year.
