Sanaullah admits to talking to PTI about proposed constitutional amendments

(Web Desk) Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah says that informal talks have also been held with the PTI on the draft of the proposed constitutional amendments.

While speaking on a private TV program, Rana Sanaullah said that the amendments agreed upon can be approved in the first week of October. The temporary failure is not the failure of the government.

It should be remembered that 224 votes will be required for a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly, while the government count is 211. 64 votes will be required in the Senate, while the government has 54 votes. In total, 110 of the 211 government seats in the National Assembly are held by the Muslim League-N.K., 68 by the People’s Party, 22 by the MQM, IPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Q. There are 4 members each. One member each from Muslim League Zia and BAP is also included in the government coalition.

There are 101 members on the opposition benches in the National Assembly, including 80 from the Sunni Ittehad Council, 8 independent members supported by the PTI, 8 from the JUIF, 1 from the BNP, Majlis Wahdat-i Muslimin and Pashtun Khaw Milli Awami Party. -1 member is also a part of opposition benches.

For the constitutional amendment, the government needs the support of 13 more members, even if 8 members of JUIF join, 5 more votes will be required.
