jpnn.comJAKARTA – Harvey Moeis’ legal advisor team, Andi Ahmad, questioned the judge’s decision to order the confiscation of all of the defendant’s assets, including assets not in Harvey’s name in the trial of the tin corruption case.

Andi Ahmad emphasized that several of the assets confiscated belonged to Sandra Dewi, who had entered into a property separation agreement with Harvey Moeis.

“If all of this property is confiscated, including those in the name of Sandra Dewi, even though they have already separated their assets, we certainly need to examine this more deeply,” said Andi after the verdict hearing at the Tipikor District Court, Central Jakarta, Monday (23/12).

According to him, this confiscation raises a big question mark regarding the basis of the judge’s considerations.

“We have not received a copy of the decision, so we don’t know what is the basis for this decision. But what is clear is that we will consider further legal steps within the next seven days,” he continued.

Apart from the issue of separation of assets, the legal team also highlighted that many assets were confiscated by the court, even though they had been obtained by the defendant before the crime occurred in 2015.

“There were assets obtained in 2012 and 2010, long before the alleged criminal act occurred. This is what we will explore in our analysis,” said Andi.

He explained that in a legal context, a property separation agreement allows a husband and wife to separate ownership and management of assets.
