Sanju Samson shone in the role of wicketkeeper in the last ODI against the West Indies. Sanju, who was a crucial presence behind the wicket by giving instructions to his teammates, stumped and dismissed West Indies opener Shai Hope. Sanju was also seen during the match giving instructions to the bowler to remove Hope.

The incident happened in the third over while West Indies were batting. The ball bowled by spinner Axar Patel went close to the fielder at coverpoint on Shai Hope’s shot. Sanju asked Axar Patel to bowl the next ball to the wicket. Sanju’s instructions were in Hindi. Shai Hope tried to defend when Aksar bowled as per Sanju’s instructions. Batilurasi Pant went to Dhawan but the star could not grab the ball.

Shai Hope, who scored 22 runs off 33 balls, was stumped by Sanju on Chehal’s delivery and later dismissed. India defeated the West Indies by 119 runs in a match which was shortened to 40 overs and then to 35 overs due to rain. This is India’s highest win on West Indian soil by run margin. India won the toss and scored 225 runs for the loss of three wickets in 36 overs. Windies’ reply ended at 137 runs in 26 overs. This is India’s 12th consecutive ODI series win against West Indies.
