I Depeche Mode will be guests of the final evening of the Festival of San Remo 2023. Amadeus announced it on Tg1 at 8pm.
Dave Gahan (vocals) and Martin Gore (guitar and keyboards) will probably present the first single, expected in the next few days, of the awaited new album ‘Memento Mori’, the fifteenth studio album by Depeche Mode, due out March 17, 2023 on Columbia and Mute. It will be the first Depeche Mode studio album to be released following the death of co-founder and keyboardist Andy Fletcher on May 26. The release of the album will be followed by the homonymous world tour which will have three Italian stops: Rome (July 12, Stadio Olimpico), Milan (July 14, San Siro stadium) and Bologna (July 16, 2023, Dall’Ara stadium).
“I’m very happy – said the conductor and artistic director of the Festival – to be able to make this announcement, because I’m a big fan of this group and I never thought I’d know him personally. I have broadcast their successes on the radio for many years and I will finally be able to have them on stage”.
