Just recently, the finalists were announced, and we’re looking at a talented lineup. Dr. Marino, thank you for joining us!
Dr. Marino: Thank you for having me! I’m excited to discuss this vibrant event and the emerging artists involved.
Interviewer: Absolutely! The eight finalists include notable names like Mew, Angelica Bove, and Settembre. What do you think makes this year’s lineup stand out?
Dr. Marino: I think this year’s lineup is notably exciting because it encapsulates a diverse range of musical styles and backgrounds. As a notable example, Settembre, born in 2001, gained visibility from X Factor, and his song “Vertebrae” has been generating buzz. This blend of experience and fresh talent can really elevate the Sanremo festival atmosphere.

Dr. Marino: Genre fusion is incredibly vital! It not only reflects the current musical landscape, which is more interconnected than ever, but it also allows artists to express their individuality. LP Vale, with her unique sound that references popular culture, exemplifies this; she brings something fresh to the table while still having deep-rooted elements of tradition in her music.
Interviewer: You mentioned popular culture, and that seems to be a recurring theme in many of these artists. Why do you believe that’s significant for this generation of musicians?
Dr. Marino: The influence of popular culture helps artists connect with their audience on a deeper level. When performers infuse their music with relatable themes, references, and even social issues, it resonates well with listeners, making the music more impactful. For younger artists, this connection is crucial for building their fan base and gaining recognition in a competitive environment like Sanremo.

Their insights can significantly influence the emerging careers of these artists.
Interviewer: Yes, the judges play a crucial role! What advice do you have for these finalists as they prepare for the big night?
Dr. Marino: My advice would be to stay authentic. The audience and judges appreciate genuine performances. They should convey their stories through their music and connect emotionally with their fans. Additionally, readiness is key—knowing how to engage the live audience and showcase their personalities will definitely benefit them during the competition.
