Ecoembesthe non-profit environmental organization that coordinates packaging recycling in Spain, and Santander Port Authority have signed an agreement to bring selective collection of packaging to their facilities.

To that end, with the aim of converting waste into resources, to give them a second life, Ecoembes has delivered 62 container elements in which plastic containers, cans and bricks (in yellow containers), paper and cardboard containers (in blue containers) ) to separate. ) and the rest of the fraction (in green containers).

The new yellow, blue and gray containers are located in different places throughout the port such as the parking lot, the unloading area, the main building or the clean point areas, among others.

Signing the agreement between the two institutions, the President of the Santander Port Authority, César Díaz Maza, explained that, with this measure, “we are taking a significant step towards sustainability and environmental protection in our Port, facilitating the selective waste promote collection and recycling. “We also want to invite all users of these port facilities to use these containers and thus actively contribute to the care of our environment,” he said. “In the same way, we thank ECOEMBES for its participation in significantly reducing waste in Spain.”

For his part, Eduardo Saez, Out-of-Home Collection coordinator of Ecoembes, highlighted that “the citizens of Santander recycle more and better and, in Ecoembes, we want to continue making it easy for them so that this habit continues growing until it is.
