Complaints about the terrible conditions in the island’s medical institutions continue to circulate, and this time, a report has circulated about an outbreak of bedbugs in a hospital in Santiago de Cuba.

The report, made by journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, details that it is the Gustavo Machín Psychiatric Hospital that is filled with these insects, and of course, it is the patients and their families who must deal with this.

“Relatives and patients of the Gustavo Machín Psychiatric Hospital, “Jagua”, in Santiago de Cuba, denounce the outbreak of bedbugs that affects both the patients who are admitted, as well as the health personnel who work there,” the post says.

It has emerged that this problem has been going on for around five months, with no solution on the horizon.

“They have been trying to eliminate it for five months and have not found any solution to this plague”the relatives reported.

Unfortunately, these types of cases occur in many institutions across the country, and not only hospitals, but also homes, schools, nursing homes and more.

In fact, recently, another similar complaint circulated in cyberspace, specifically from Manzanillo, Granma province, indicating that a nursing home was infested with bedbugs.

“It happens that for months the patients of the nursing home in Manzanillo have been suffering from a large-scale bedbug infestation. This situation has been reported and is known to all the institutions of the municipality and the province.”said at the time Lucía Martínez, in charge of presenting the case.

As Martinez mentioned, the regime’s authorities give little importance to this, abandoning people who are already struggling with their health problems to their fate.
