Santosh Sivan’s Moha shines in Rotterdam – CINEMA – NEWS

by time news

Moha, directed by Santhosh Sivan, took the audience by the hand at the 52nd Rotterdam Film Festival. Enriched with exquisite visuals, the film presents the audience with glimpses of two opposing sides of humanity coming together. Javed Jaffrey and newcomer Shelly Krishen are playing the lead roles. One of these unnamed characters symbolizes sacrifice and separation, while the other symbolizes purity and temptation. The focus of the film is on the differences between the two and the constant discussions about it without a single word being uttered, only through actions, gestures and facial expressions. Shot on a low budget in Athirappily, Moha is a visually stunning spectacle that combines the sounds of nature with background music by Vipinkumar PK. The narration written by Himanshu Singh and presented in the voice of Javed Jaffrey explains the background of the film’s events and the ideas that flow into them. Critics say that the frames presented by Santhosh Sivan are such that they can be displayed on the wall of a museum. Santosh Sivan is also the producer and co-writer of the film. After Tahaan released in 2008, Santhosh Sivan’s Moha in Hindi gave the audience a great experience at the international level.
