The municipal architect already went to the scene of the accident the same day it occurred, and the City Council prepared a report to detail the property owners what they have to examine and, where appropriate, repair in the building. This is the document that was sent to them this Monday.

Municipal sources specified: This very morning [por ayer] A request has been sent to the community of owners of the Isla building to repair and review the balustrades on all floors. In other words, not only is it requested that the damaged balcony be examined, but also that the potential risk that could exist in the other homes that share the façade be taken into account.

In addition, this community of owners will have to present certification of the actions carried out under the protection of this communication. The City Council of Sanxenxo grants the owners of the affected property a period of 20 days to finish the examination of the facaderepair it and be able to demonstrate, with documentation, that the claim has been met.

The night of the accident, on the first floor where the balustrade collapsed, there were eight friends between the ages of 18 and 19. At a quarter to one in the morning, and apparently while four of them were leaning on this stone railing, the structure of the balustrade gave way and they ended up falling into the light well.

To the place of the event, medical means were moved to attend to the four wounded. The most seriously ill was transferred to the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago, where he remains hospitalized, while the ambulance took two others to the Montecelo Hospital, in Pontevedra. Of them, one has been transferred to his referral hospital in Madrid and another was discharged last Saturday. The fourth injured did not require hospital admission.
