This Sunday afternoon (14), São Paulo beat Botafogo, 3-0, in a match valid for the fifth round of the Brasileirão, at CFA Laudo Natel, in Cotia (SP). The goals were scored by Mariana Santos, Ariel Godoi and Rafa Mineira.

To face the fifth match of the season, coach Thiago Viana selected the team with: Carlinha; L. Alves, Kaká, Mimi and Bia Menezes; Robinha, Aline, and R. Mineira; Dudinha, Mariana S. and Ariel Godoi. Anna Bia (injured), Ana Alice (personal problems), Vi Amaral, Ana Beatriz, Ana Flávia and Milena (under-20 team) were absent.

After beating Fluminense, before the FIFA date, the São Paulo team went in search of victory to remain in the first part of the leaderboard and close the round in second place, just as they started.

With a great start to the match, Tricolor put pressure on the opponent from the first minutes and in the 16th minute they opened the scoring. Ariel Godoi advanced from the left and made the pass for Mariana Santos to deflect the ball into the goal. Shortly after, it was Ariel’s turn to finish from outside the area, low, into the goalkeeper’s left corner to increase the score.

In the second half, the São Paulo team found the net again with Rafa Mineira and gave the final numbers to another victory in the championship.

With the result, Thiago Viana’s team reached 11 points in five games, maintaining their unbeaten record and closing the round in second place. The team returns to the field next Saturday to face Real Brasília, at 3pm, at the Defelê Stadium.
