São Paulo overcomes Palmeiras and advances to the semifinal of the Brazilian Women’s Championship

São Paulo is in the Brazilian Women’s semifinal! With a 3-1 victory, this Sunday morning (25), at Allianz Parque, Tricolor overcame Palmeiras and secured a spot in the next phase. The goals were scored by Rafa Mineira, Ana Alice and Micaelly.

After drawing 1-1 in the first duel of the quarterfinals, at the Bruno José Daniel Stadium, in Santo André, the São Paulo team returned to the field for the competition to seek victory, chosen by assistant Sullivan Mello with: Carlinha; L. Alves, Ana Alice, Mimi and Fe Palermo; Maressa, Aline and Rafa Mineira; Naná, Glaucia and Dudinha. Suspended, Thiago Viana was left out of the match.

The team’s classification began after conceding the first goal, at 12 minutes, and tying the match with a great goal by Rafa Mineira, at 23 minutes, closing the first stage on an equal footing.

In the second half, Ariel and Mariana Santos replaced Dudinha and Glaucia and Tricolor began to put pressure on the opponent. The result came with a chance in a corner, which was taken by Rafa Mineira and ended with a header by Ana Alice for the back of the net.

Before the third came out, the opponent still had a penalty kicked out. And Micaelly entered the match to close the score at 3-1 and put São Paulo in the semifinals of the Brazilian Championship.

Tricolor returns to the field to face Palmeiras, on Thursday (22), at 7 pm, at Estádio Bruno José Daniel, for the seventh round of Paulistão. After the break for the Women’s World Cup, the team will face Ferroviária to decide a place in the final of the Brasileirão.
