São Paulo is in the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Women’s Championship. The team beat Grêmio, 3-0, this Monday, at Estádio Airton Ferreira da Silva, in Eldorado do Sul (RS), and secured the classification. The goals were scored by Glaucia, Naná and Vivian.

In search of a place in the next stage, coach Thiago Viana selected the team with: Carlinha; L. Alves, Ana Alice, Mimi and Fe Palermo; Maressa, Aline and Rafa Mineira; Naná, Glaucia and Dudinha.

To advance, the São Paulo team needed a draw so as not to depend on other results and secure the spot. And it was in the first stage that the team started to build the scoreboard. In the 28th minute, Glaucia took advantage of a ball left over in the small area to score and give Tricolor the advantage before the break.

In the second half, taking advantage of the counterattacks, the team expanded after a great move by Ariel and a conclusion by Naná. To close the account, Vivian scored the third and stamped the vacancy in the second phase of the Brasileirão.

Now, the team will face Palmeiras, in round-robin games, with dates, times and locations to be defined in the coming days.
