jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Makassar Search and Rescue (SAR) Office Team, South Sulawesi, has again found the body of a crew member of the Dewi Jaya II Motor Boat which was lost in the waters of the Selayar Islands.

Head of the Makassar SAR Office, Mexianus Bekabel, said that the body of a man known as Kristanto was found floating in the waters of Taka Bonerate National Park, Selayar, Tuesday afternoon.

“The team has found another person, this time in the waters of Taka Bonerate National Park, floating and dead,” said Mexianus Bekabel in a report received in Jakarta.

Since this afternoon at 13.00 WITA, the bodies of the ship’s crew have been evacuated using KN SAR Kramajaya to the Kayuadi Command Post which is 85 nautical miles away for further identification.

Mexi revealed that from this discovery, on the eighth day of the search, 17 crew members of KM Dewi Jaya II had been found.

Of that number, 12 were found safe, and five died.

The SAR team is still continuing to search for the 18 missing ship crew members, namely Andreansyah, Mohamad Irkham, Agus Budianto, Aditya Saifudin, Ahmad Mahrus, Ahmad Musyaffa, Aji Santoso, Ayuhan, Dhukron, Edi Surito, Haidar Muthohar Ahmad, Hendy Dianto, Ifnu Prastian, M. Khoirul Anam, M. Zuhdanul Mahrom, Rizal, Wahyono, Zaenal Abidin.

Previously, the Basarnas Team reported that KM Dewi Jaya II was a fishing vessel carrying 35 crew members. The ship set sail from Penjaringan, North Jakarta, to the waters of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Sunday (3/3) morning.

The SAR team again found the body of a victim of a sunken ship in the waters of the Selayar Islands.
