The crime that resulted in the death of singer Sara Mariano was motivated by passion, according to the findings of the Civil Police investigation so far. Ederlan Mariano would have discovered that his wife had had two extramarital affairs.
The Civil Police of Dias d’Ávila (BA) made relevant discoveries in the investigation of the crime that claimed the life of the Pentecostal artist. Sara Mariano had met a boy who worked as an app driver six months ago, and two months ago, they became sexually involved and her husband found out.
The statements were made by the boy in a statement to the Civil Police of Florianópolis (SC). According to his report, he decided to break off the relationship when he made the discovery, but she was unhappy and continued to look for him via WhatsApp.

In an interview with the press, delegate Evaldo da Costa shared details of the investigation and admitted that infidelity “is a possibility, but there are still no elements that allow us to make the statement”.
Ederlan “confessed that he wanted to get rid of his wife”, said Costa. “The means used are still under investigation. It is possible that there were more authors who participated in this fact. […] The motivation is still under investigation, there are aspects within the process that we cannot publicize because the investigation is very early”.
He pointed out that the crime was premeditated: “We estimate that this crime began to be articulated on September 24th and happened exactly one month after all the premeditation began. One of the facts that I found relevant in this investigation is that the pastor’s husband was responsible for her schedule […] but in this specific fact, he did not participate, creating a false alibi to take her to the scene of the crime.”
The singer’s sister, Soraya Correia, vehemently denied that Sara had an extramarital affair: “That doesn’t exist. She always talked about fighting for her marriage. Aderlan must have paid this man to talk about betrayal. That doesn’t exist for me,” she declared to the page Assemblies of Value.
