TRENTO. Sara Oberosler she won, in the final on Sunday 18 August in Bressanone, the most recent and most current title up for grabs by the Miss Italia competition: Miss Social.

Starting from the background, who is Sara Oberosler?

I was born in Switzerland in the Canton of Grisons on October 27, 2005, where my family had moved for work reasons. We returned to Italy when I was 10, so I started middle school in Alto Adige. My grandparents always told me that the surname is quite common also in Trentino.

What studies are you currently pursuing?

I am enrolled in the 4th year of the Merano Art High School, graphic direction. I am slightly behind because at the beginning I had some difficulty with the language then with distance learning, during the pandemic, I did not find it particularly good but now I am catching up easily.

The decision to participate in the Miss Italy contest?

It was taken… on a very fast train! I started with the Spormaggiore selection which was the last possible one, then I made the finals and in Bressanone I got where I wanted, strongly!

Why Miss Social, then, why this particular satisfaction?

We had to prepare a video that told about us but also about the land where we live. So I did, focusing on the beauty of the territory, in all its expressions and I believe that the commission of Rome appreciated the quality and sincerity of what I told. A meticulous work that I did putting all of myself into it.

Supported in this by your family and your boyfriend, we imagine…

Absolutely! My mother is called Maria Grazia, my father is Andreas and they both work in the gastronomy industry. In the summer, when I can, I try to give them a hand, I’m an only child. For four years I have been engaged to William, who is 20 years old. They followed me on the evenings I did with Miss Italy; in Bressanone my grandparents and all of William’s family came too! I had a great claque and it was a great success.

How much did you believe in the success of the final?

I didn’t see the video of all the other girls but I was very convinced of the quality of my product, I knew I had done a good thing; then, as the icing on the cake, two nights before the evening of August 18, I dreamed that I had won, so I believed in it to the end and it really went well.

Summer is now coming to an end and from September 4th to 7th you will have to participate with 240 other girls from all over Italy in the national pre-finals of Numana. With what spirit are you participating?

With the utmost conviction and determination. They will be the only vacations I can take this summer but I will be very focused anyway. Unlike other years, with Sonia Leonardi’s Soleo Show, instead of the minibus, we opted for the train, the Frecciarossa, we will all be together with peace of mind.

Are you a sporty type as well as a studious one?

A lot, I practice horse riding, ballet and skiing. As for horses, they are a real passion, before I went to the riding school in Merano, now as soon as I can I go up to the mountain hut to my grandparents and ride there, with them. I have the license, so I can practice it on my own.

A thought for the competition whose national pre-finals are approaching?

I believe that we women must support each other even on occasions like these. The controversy that broke out in Bressanone in my opinion makes no sense. Miss Italia has a long history of 85 years and there is no exploitation of the image of women, on the contrary. Their personality is valued, the ability to represent themselves, to propose the beauty that, regardless of appearance, is in each of us. So I invite everyone to experience the emotion that I felt this summer, thanks to Sonia Leonardi’s agency and her ability to put us at ease in all the situations we faced. With serenity and friendship.
