Sarah case: the question of sexual consent at 11 years back in court

by time news

It is a file that had made a lot of noise in 2017 and 2018. The trial of the Sarah case returns to the judicial court of Pontoise (Val-d’Oise). Sarah is the fictitious first name given to this 11-year-old girl, the alleged victim of a 28-year-old man with whom she had sex, in Montmagny. In February 2018, the prosecution, considering that the girl was consenting, prosecuted the defendant for sexual abuse (when an adult has a sexual relationship with a minor under the age of 15 without exercising violence, constraint, threat or surprise) while the family of young Sarah, for its part, had filed a complaint for rape.
