World Dog Day is an amazing opportunity to get close to our four-legged friends, and Sarah Ferguson seems to have moved from theory to practice. The Duchess of York was photographed with Muick and Sandy, the two beloved corgis of the late Queen Elizabeth.
On August 26, The Duchess of York, who is widely known as Fergie, shared a heartfelt message in honor of World Dog Day with a photo of herself and the late Queen’s last surviving corgis, Sandy and Muick.
“I wish you and all your furry friends a happy #InternationalDogDay,” wrote Sarah Ferguson, accompanying the photo with a dog emoji.
“For all the unconditional love, loyalty, and joy they bring into our lives, Sandy and Muick will get an extra treat on their special day!” she added about how they celebrate.
In the photo, Sarah Ferguson is lying on the grass with Sandy and Muick. “They have found their balances,” Fergie previously mentioned about the dogs who coexist with her own pets at her home in Windsor. Prince Andrew had gifted the dogs Muick and Fergus to the Queen during quarantine when Prince Philip was hospitalized. When Fergus passed away, the Queen welcomed another corgi to the Palace, Sandy.
The Queen’s dogs were so important to her that they were at the gates of Windsor Castle to greet the royal coffin after the ceremony. “Her dogs brought her joy,” Fergie had emphasized, as she used to walk with the monarch and the dogs at Frogmore House.
