It’s official, Miss Saran Kourouma and Miss Saran Bah will represent Guinea respectively in the Miss Cosmo and Miss Universe 2024 competitions.

The participation of the two Guinean representatives in these beauty contests was confirmed by Aminata Diallo, president of COOMISGUI, during a press conference.

In her speech, the vice-president of COOMISGUI congratulated the two young girls for representing Guinea. She invited Guineans to accompany the two Miss through the votes.

“I would like to congratulate and encourage our young ladies to represent Guinea on the international stage. It takes a lot of courage and determination to do so. I ask all of Guinea and everyone to do so because we are generally very demanding of these young ladies. We ask a lot of them but what do we give them in return? Sometimes we make comments that are very annoying and can discourage. So we are in competition, not inside but outside Guinea. So, we can support not only financially but also through votes and positive messages” said the vice president of COOMISGUI.

For these beauty queens, raising the Guinean flag higher is the desired objective.

“I am very happy to represent Guinea at such a big international competition. It is such a great joy for me. I have been preparing for two weeks now for the Miss Cosmo challenges. I am currently taking sports classes to prepare for the sports, culture, talent, beach challenges, certainly the top model challenge. I am preparing with a personal coach who is teaching me how to run, a personal coach who is teaching me how to dance. This means that I am preparing a lot of great things and I will not be able to highlight that without you being there for me. The team I need today is the Guinea team” declared Miss Guinea Cosmo.

As for Miss Universe Guinea Saran Bah, she will face more than 70 participating countries.

“I call you once again to support our country Guinea. It is a way of supporting our country Guinea because when Saran at Miss Cosmo and I at Miss Universe, we will not be called by our first names, we will be called “Guinea”, so we expect the support of Guineans so that we unite together and that we can unite and think together, for a beautiful representation of Guinea together. I think that we have good experience of the international competition since we went to Miss World together and we saw how it went at Miss World and we did well. But we would know how to do better if we had what was necessary, also the necessary preparation to be able to shine more. I think that it is good to learn from the past and to take it a little earlier” stressed Miss Saran Bah.

And the president of COOMISGUI justifies the choice of Saran Bah for the Miss Universe 2024 competition instead of Saran Kourouma.

And Aminata Diallo added: “Miss Universe basically, it’s my project, it’s me who brought it in any case this year. I know that there are things that the committee wanted to do but in the future. There were so many things to do. So, they said to wait but I came and she immediately joined and we went together to get the Miss Universe license. It’s not just a story of: Saran is sleeping at home, we work and we suddenly tell her ” come on, you’re going to Miss Universe”. I really worked to get the Miss Universe license.[..] especially if the person has enough experience to be able to represent the country properly.”

Beyond this unwavering desire to brandish the Guinean tricolor, the president of COOMISGUI is seeking support from the State but also from individuals.

“There is no better branding than Miss Universe and Miss Cosmo. It’s still 73 countries and every time we say [Guinée] “It’s all of us,” she concluded.

From September 11, Miss Guinea 2023, Saran Kourouma will take off to participate from October 15 to 5 in Vietnam, in the Miss Cosmo competition. And Miss World Saran Bah, in search of the Miss Universe crown, will be in Mexico from October 29 to November 16.
