SAS Flight SK716 Forced to Return to Arlanda Airport Due to Smell of Smoke in Cabin

An SAS plane en route from Arlanda to Helsinki was forced to return to the airport after indications of the smell of smoke in the cabin, reports Aftonbladet. “It has already landed, so it is over, but we can confirm that it was a normal landing,” said Ellen Laurin, press officer at Swedavia, to TT.

The aircraft, which took off at 14:04, landed back at Arlanda at 14:15, according to Swedavia. There were 28 passengers onboard the plane that turned around. “I don’t know more than that there was a smell of smoke in the cabin,” said Irena Busic, press manager at SAS.

The passengers will now need to be rebooked onto another aircraft. “Everyone is fine and it was a completely normal safety landing at Arlanda, and no emergency landing,” assured Busic.
