The article reports on VK Sasikala’s recent statement about not considering caste when selecting Edappadi Palaniswami as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Sasikala emphasized her belief that opposition parties in Tamil Nadu fail to effectively communicate their message to the people, and responded to questions about various political figures and events in the state. In regards to the AIADMK general committee, Sasikala referenced a Supreme Court decision and expressed her perspective on leadership and inclusion, citing MGR and Jayalalithaa’s examples of supporting members of different backgrounds.

Chennai: VK Sasikala has said that if I had seen caste, I would not have brought Edappadi Palaniswami from a counter community as Chief Minister.

VK Sasikala met the media in Chennai on Friday. Then he was asked about the activities of opposition parties in Tamil Nadu politics. In response, he said, “The media has been watching the activities of the opposition parties every day. My opinion is that the opposition parties fail to say what they want to say and what they want to convey to the people.”

Responding to a question about the OPS conference to be held in Trichy on April 24, he said, “If you give me an invitation, I will go without telling the media. Let the invitation come. Then see what happens.” Responding to a question about the political stance of OPS, he said, “There will come a time when everyone will understand about me. When that time comes, everyone will understand. This is not only for OPS, I am saying in general.”

Responding to a question regarding the AIADMK general committee, he said, “The Supreme Court itself has said that any order issued without knowing the decision of the civil court is not permanent. What more can I say.” Responding to a question about EPS’s claim that other than OPS, Sasikala and DTV could join AIADMK, he said, “If you ask our party workers, you will know about this. The reason is that I am a common person. I never thought that this is my hometown and that is my hometown. Similarly, I thought the same about caste. No. If I had thought so, I would not have brought a person from a counter community as the PM.

As far as I am concerned, I see MGR as Jayalalithaa’s supporters. The late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa also saw it that way. He has also given a poor MLA chance and made him a minister to win. We were raised that way. So, my way will be freeway,” he said.
