From April 2025, companies are allowed to set up a new setup in India if they want.

Till now, companies have to pay in USD for using satellite for DTH. But after getting permission for this in India, companies can pay in INR. The government is also signing deals with foreign companies regarding this. If this happens, companies can save money exchange rate and many other taxes.
Who are the major satellite providers?
There are companies like SES, AsiaSat, Instelsat and Measat which are currently providing satellite networks to Indian companies. These include TV broadcasters and DTH operators as well. But now the payment is made in dollars, so the service cost automatically becomes high. If the payment is made in INR, the service fee will automatically reduce.
The government’s decision-
Only those companies which get authorization from Indian National Space Promotion of Authority can set up their own establishment in India. For this, a deadline of April 2025 has also been fixed. Apart from this, assistance can also be obtained from local units. This means that any foreign company will have to take permission from the Indian agency before setting up its establishment in India.
