Kochi: Malayalam cinema world pays tribute to late actor Innocent. Co-stars and fans are arriving to pay their last respects and have a last look at Innocent. After the public darshan held at Kadavantra Indoor Stadium from 8 am, the body was taken to his native Iringalakuda.
Mammootty, Siddique, Janardhanan, Mukesh, Sai Kumar, Vineeth, Baburaj, Harishree Asokan, Shajon, Mukta, Kunjan, Sathyan Anthikad, Jayasuriya, Priyadarshan and many others paid tribute to Innocent. Actor Kunchan and director Sathyan Anthikad were shocked when they came to the dead body. Sai Kumar too could not hold back his tears. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan came to Iringalakuda and paid last rites to Innocent.
Actor Harishree Ashokan told Mathrubhumi News that he was lucky to be able to act with Innocent. It was he who appreciated her while playing a small role in Godfather. I still remember that. It’s a big thing to have your own style. He said that Innocent was the one who received it.
Actor Jayasuriya’s response was that he could not believe that such a person had passed away. Someone who has always been in touch rather than acting together. If he gets any new jokes, he will call and share. He was very kind to everyone. He is a jokester with many layers of meaning. Jayasuriya said that he lived for so long because of his funny name.
Director Mohan recalled that they have been friends for a long time. Only one person has pushed into my film career. That is Innocent. It is true that this death was expected. The funeral will be held at St. Thomas Cathedral, Iringalakuda on Tuesday at 10 am. VPS in Kochi Innocent passed away at Lakeshore Hospital around 10.30 pm on Sunday.
After a short trip to America, Innocent had been suffering from pneumonia and other ailments for three weeks. First in the isolation ward and then in the ICU. The situation worsened by Sunday night.
