Meanwhile, several films have been stuck in the censor board for a long time. ‘Saturday Afternoon’ is one of them. Producers and makers are hopeful about the release of the movie.
The movie is directed by Mustafa Saryar Faruqi and produced by Abdul Aziz, the leader of Jazz Multimedia. The movie was screened abroad and won international awards despite the ban in the country. The film, which has been stuck in the Censor Board for a long time, has been heard to be released subject to the conditions of the appeal board, but the makers have not yet received the clearance from the Censor Board.
When Abdul Aziz was asked about the release of the movie, he told RisingBD, “We are hopeful that ‘Saturday Afternoon’ will get censor clearance very soon.” If everything goes well, I will release the film across the country in November.”
Abdul Aziz also said that he does not want to release the movie in the current situation of the country.
Zahid Hasan, Nusrat Imroz Tisha, Mamunur Rashid, Iresh Zaker, Intekhab Dinar, Gausul Alam Shaon, Nader Chowdhury, India’s Parambrat Chatterjee, Palestine’s Yad Hourani and many others have acted in the central role of the movie ‘Saturday Afternoon’. Aziz Zambakiev, a cinematographer from Kazakhstan, was in charge of filming the film. who won the Silver Bear for Best Cinematography at the Berlin Film Festival in 2013 for the movie ‘Harmony Lesson’.
