Saudi Arabia allows a large number of Umrah visas for foreigners

RIYADH: With the start of the new Umrah season after the Hajj, Saudi Arabia is allowing a large number of Umrah visas. 6,000 visas were granted within three days of the new Umrah season. At the same time, the visa applications started being accepted two weeks before the start of the season. Since then, the total number of Umrah visas granted has crossed 20,000.

Pilgrims from foreign countries should apply for visa through the link www.haj.gov.sa/ar/InternalPages/Umrah. You can also pay for the visa online. Meanwhile, the first batch of Umrah pilgrims of the new season arrived in Saudi Arabia on July 30.

The last batch of Malayali pilgrims returned home
Riyadh: The last Hajj group under the Kerala Hajj Committee has returned home. A group of 304 pilgrims who took off on a Saudi Airlines flight on Sunday evening reached Nedumbassery on Monday morning.

With this, the return of the Malayali pilgrims, which started on July 15, has been completed. All the pilgrims returned home in 22 flights. People from parts of Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep came to Saudi for Haj via Nedumbassery. Returned to Kerala. 90 Hajis from Tamil Nadu are among the group of 304 who returned at last.

A total of 5,766 Malayali pilgrims, including 2,062 men and 3,704 women, participated in the Hajj this time. Of these, 1,650 came without male assistance. Apart from the Malayalis, a total of 7,727 pilgrims, including those from Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Antaman, reached Haj through Kerala via Nedumbassery embarkation.

Three deaths due to covid in Saudi Arabia today
Riyadh: Three more people died due to covid in Saudi Arabia. Among those under treatment, 346 more have recovered.
