Saudi Arabia and Boeing are in negotiations to purchase dozens of passenger planes

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced in Riyadh the establishment of a new Saudi airline RIYADH AIR that will fly to more than 100 destinations in the world.

The establishment of the airline involves the purchase of dozens of passenger planes from Boeing and the European corporation Airbus.

The manager of the new airline will be the industrialist Tony Douglas, and it will start flying in about seven years. The Saudi news agency SPA explains that the special location of the kingdom between the continents of Africa, Asia and Europe will buy the new airline an audience of passengers.

On the other hand, there are claims that a new airline will create even tougher competition with regional aviation giants such as Emirates, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines.

The WALL STREET JOURNAL reported in this context that Saudi Arabia’s State Investment Fund (PIF) is close to a huge deal with Boeing to purchase dozens of wide-body airliners designed for long-haul international flights.

This is a potential order in the amount of 35 billion dollars. In October of last year, Saudi Arabia conducted negotiations with the European corporation Airbus to buy 40 modern Airbus A350 passenger planes.
