/ Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Affairs Envoy, Adel Al-Jubeir, said on Thursday that “hypocrisy” regarding some global positions towards oil cannot be accepted.
Al-Jubeir pointed out during the session on Saudi Arabia’s future path in Davos that “the Kingdom has warned the world since the 1970s about the need to diversify energy sources.”
Al-Jubeir explained that fossil fuels will remain for many decades and will not be excluded. He said, “We stand against any unrealistic expectations being marketed globally about the future of energy,” adding, “We cannot accept the ‘hypocrisy’ regarding some global positions toward oil.”
Al-Jubeir continued, “We will enrich uranium and sell you clean nuclear energy, just as we sell you oil and gas.”
