Saudi Arabia executes 3 of its citizens on charges of treason

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced today, Sunday, the execution of three citizens who committed “criminal acts involving treason against their country.”

The ministry explained in a statement that the three convicts provided support to terrorist entities and communicated with them, and adopted a terrorist approach that permitted the shedding of blood, money and honor, and they also incited people to carry out terrorist acts with the aim of undermining the security and stability of society.

She pointed out that the three convicts are: Talal bin Ali bin Khunaifis Al-Hudhali, Majdi bin Mohammed bin Attian Al-Kaabi, and Raid bin Amer bin Matar Al-Kaabi, Saudi nationals, who committed “criminal acts that involve betraying their country.”

When they were referred to the Public Prosecution, they were charged with “committing these criminal acts,” and a ruling was issued against them by the Specialized Criminal Court, convicting them of what was attributed to them, and sentencing them to death. The ruling was upheld by the Specialized Criminal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

The Ministry noted that the death sentence will be implemented against the aforementioned individuals today, Sunday 03/05/1446 AH, corresponding to 09/08/2024 AD, in the Riyadh region.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior stressed its “keenness to establish security, achieve justice, and eliminate anyone who attempts to undermine the security of the Kingdom or endanger its unity,” stressing that “legal punishment will be the fate of anyone who dares to commit such a crime, to eliminate his evil and deter others.”
