Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has issued permits for Umrah pilgrimage in the month of Ramadan. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that permits for performing Umrah have started. Permits are currently granted to those who wish to perform Umrah within the first 20 days of Ramadan.

Booking for Umrah should be done through Nusuk and Tawalkana mobile applications. The ministry analyzed the time map of the first 20 days. The ministry also said that it will inform later about issuing Umrah permits for the last 10 days of Ramadan.

The rush of pilgrims is known at the time of booking. The rush at different times is shown in the apps itself. Pilgrim traffic is shown in three colors in the application. Off-peak times are indicated in green. Medium rush hours will also be marked in orange. Busy times are shown in red on the application.

Permit is mandatory for Umrah pilgrims. Violation of the law by attempting to perform Umrah without a permit will result in a fine of up to 10,000 Riyals. The Saudi Interior Ministry had earlier informed about this. In order to attract more pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, the conditions for performing Umrah have been relaxed. The new Saudi law allows Umrah to be performed not only by Uram visa holders but also by other visa holders.
