/ The Saudi national team secured its qualification to the round of 16 of the Asian Cup, after defeating the Kyrgyzstan national team 2-0 on Sunday in the second round of the group stage, at the Ahmed bin Ali World Cup Stadium.

The first half ended with Saudi Arabia leading by one goal to none, scored in the 35th minute by Mohammed Kano. In the ninth minute of the first half, the referee sent off Kyrgyzstan player Aizer Akmatov.

In the second half, the referee sent off Kyrgyzstan player Kimi Merk in the 52nd minute, leaving Kyrgyzstan to complete the match with nine players. The Saudi team scored its second goal in the 84th minute through Faisal Al-Ghamdi.

The Saudi Green team had opened its journey in the first round with a last-minute victory over the Omani team, 2-1, and with the victory over Kyrgyzstan today, it secured qualification to the round of 16, after its score reached 6 points.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia’s victory today eliminated Kyrgyzstan from continuing in the Asian competition, especially after it suffered a defeat in the first round against its Thai counterpart, with two goals to none.
