In conjunction with the approaching month of Ramadan, 60,000 shares of sacrificial meat officially arrived in Egypt and Palestine today, distributed equally through a decades-long Saudi project spanning 26 countries. The aroma of generosity hung in the air as the delivery commenced, promising sustenance to communities during a sacred time.
The handover ceremony took place at the Saudi Embassy in Cairo, attended by Deputy Ambassador Khaled bin Hammad Al-Shammari, Major General Muhammad Reda representing Egypt, and Palestinian Ambassador Diab Al-Louh. Both Egypt and Palestine received 30,000 shares as part of the Royal Commission for the City of Makkah project.

Al-Shammari explained that the project, initiated in 1983, has evolved into an integrated regulatory framework ensuring safe procedures, equitable distribution, and lasting impact, extending sacrificial meat both within and beyond the Kingdom to reach deserving Muslims.
Saad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Wabel, the project’s general supervisor, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to streamlining the process of benefiting from sacrifices and ensuring access for recipients in approximately 26 Islamic countries.

Palestinian and Egyptian gratitude was palpable. Ambassador Diab Al-Louh expressed thanks to the Saudi leadership, including the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and his Crown Prince, for the annual support provided to the Palestinian people.
The representative from Egypt echoed this sentiment, extending thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince for their ongoing generosity towards Arab and Islamic nations, and offered prayers for continued stability and progress within the Kingdom and its leadership.
