Jeddah: King Salman Relief for Relief and Humanitarian Action General Supervisor said that Saudi humanitarian activities are not related to politics. Abdullah Al Rabia. King Salman has announced this on the day when the King Salman Relief Center started functioning.
Saudi humanitarian work is not linked to any religious, political or military agenda. He stated this in a press conference announcing the launch of a Saudi public campaign to provide aid to those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. This grassroots campaign is an extension of the Centre’s previous activities.
Efforts are being made to alleviate the current plight of our brothers in Syria. We care for the injured regardless of political affiliation. We will reach out to our brothers in Syria in all Syrian regions through our ongoing work with UN organizations and local organizations. Rabia also said that before the start of the campaign, communication has started with organizations working in Syria.
The Center will not directly accept assistance in cash or in kind. Donations can be made through the ‘Saham Platform’, through the King Salman Center website or through the bank account of the Centre, through money transfer or by sending cheques. Those facing difficulties in donating through ‘Saham’ can use one of the other two methods, said Dr. Rabia said.
Donations from the popular campaign directed by King Salman and the crown prince will be used to help earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey. An air bridge will be launched immediately to provide shelter, health and food to the affected people. Rescue workers will go to the affected areas to save the injured and distressed. The team will include relief teams, Saudi medical and volunteer emergency teams.
The Center will collaborate with UN agencies and other organizations to implement programs based on humanitarian needs. There will be a field evaluation team. They will assess the situation.
