Dammam: The Ministry of Commerce has reiterated its warning against fake online websites that collect and defraud customers’ bank information in Saudi Arabia. Fraudsters create fake websites that appear to be affiliated with ministries and government departments. Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution has also announced that the investigation against the ATM fraud group has been intensified.

The Ministry of Commerce issued a warning against the backdrop of repeated reports of cases of money theft by deceiving customers and leaking bank information. Fraudsters lure consumers by creating fake websites and social media pages that claim to be affiliated with ministries and government departments.

Fraud is done by leaking personal information. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused in such crimes in coordination with various departments. In the meantime, consumers should be vigilant to prevent repeat scams. The ministry also clarified that confidential information including bank account information, password and OTP should not be shared under any circumstances. Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution has informed that the investigation is in progress in the case of stealing bank information by coming to the ATM centers for help.
