Jeddah: The Department of Prisons has announced the launch of a family home program in Saudi Arabia that allows inmates to spend time with their families in prisons on certain days of the month. The project will resume from next Sunday. Prisoners can stay with their families in houses and flats built around the prison. The Department of Prisons is implementing such a scheme with the aim of alleviating the mental problems of inmates and their families and preventing the breakdown of family ties.
