Jeddah: Authorities have released a revised list of violations in Saudi Arabia. The new list of violations, which carries fines of up to one million riyals, went into effect on Saturday. According to the revised rules, failure to set up pediatric hospitality centers in commercial centers will result in a fine of 25,000 riyals.

A fine of 20,000 riyals will be imposed for installing cameras in women’s shops.

A fine of 10,000 riyals for a hookah without a license and a fine of 10,000 riyals for making mixtures for cosmetic and medical purposes.

Construction of a building without a building permit will cost 50,000 riyals, 10,000 riyals if there are no pricing boards at petrol pumps and 5,000 riyals if the petrol pump is not clean. In addition, a fine of 2,500 riyals will be levied for failing to meet the needs of people with disabilities at petrol pumps. If buildings are constructed without a license, it must be removed at the expense of the manufacturer, and vehicles found abandoned in public places for more than a week can now be confiscated by the government.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Interior Ministry said 13,627 people had been arrested in the past week for violating residential and labor border security rules in the country. The figures are from January 6 to 12. The arrest was made during a search led by various units of the security forces. Forty-eight percent of those arrested while trying to cross the border illegally were Yemeni nationals, 49 percent were Ethiopians and three percent were foreign nationals. Saudi Arabia carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to one million riyals for trespassing and seeking asylum in the country. Shelters for illegal occupants will also be confiscated.
