In this case, a few days ago, the Saudi court sentenced a woman named Noora Bint Saeed Al-Qahtani to 45 years in prison. He is apparently accused of “using the internet to disrupt the social fabric of the country through social media and violating public order”. However, information about his social media posts is not revealed.

Earlier, a Saudi court sentenced PhD student Salma Al-Shehab to 34 years in prison and banned her from traveling abroad for 34 years. Salma was doing her PhD research at the University of Leeds in England. Salma was accused of aiding and abetting those trying to disrupt public peace, civil and national security through Twitter after she returned to Saudi Arabia for a holiday. Subsequently, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison in the court case.
