Delhi: Rahul Gandhi spoke to Uddhav Thackeray who protested over Savarkar’s remark. Uddhav told Rahul that the war should be with Modi and not with Savarkar. NCP leader Sharad Pawar had called Sonia Gandhi over the phone asking her to resolve Shiv Sena’s complaint. It is reported that Pawar told Sonia that Rahul’s anti-Savarkar remarks would backfire on the opposition movements.
Rahul Gandhi’s remark regarding Savarkar in the press conference on the issue of incompetence is shaking Maharashtra politics. Uddhav Thackeray criticized Rahul Gandhi’s Savarkar remark. Uddhav Thackeray said the other day that Savarkar is equal to God and would not look at him if he insulted him. Savarkar’s contribution to the freedom struggle should not be underestimated. Uddhav Thackeray, who is also the leader of the alliance in Maharashtra, also warned that Rahul’s remarks would cause a rift in the opposition alliance. Earlier, Eknath Shinde and BJP had criticized Savarkar’s remarks in Maharashtra.
