‘Table for 4’ to be broadcast on the 16th
Broadcaster Sayuri reveals why she became a single mother.
On the Channel A show ‘Best Friend Documentary – Table for 4’ (hereafter referred to as ‘Table for 4’) to be aired on the afternoon of the 16th, the broadcaster Sayuri Sa will be featured.
On this day, Sayuri will be inviting her close friend singer Kang Nam, singer Jung In who is raising two children after marrying singer Jo Jung-chi, and Han Groo who gave birth to twins in 2017 and is currently working as an actress, to her home in Gangnam-gu to hold her first Chuseok party in 18 years of living in Korea. Expectations are high for Sayuri’s son Zen who turns 3 this year as he will be making songpyeon for his mother’s friends for the first time in his life.
Sayuri confesses the story of how she became pregnant and gave birth through sperm donation and became a ‘voluntary single mother’. She wanted to marry the person she was dating 5 years ago, but they broke up due to differences in opinion. After that, she visited an OB/GYN for a checkup and was diagnosed with early menopause crisis and was told that if she didn’t have a baby right away, it would be difficult to get pregnant. She reveals that she desperately wanted a child, so she decided to receive sperm donation with a sense of desperation.
Meanwhile, Sayuri says, “These days, Zen asks me, ‘Where’s my dad?’ and I’ve honestly told him from the beginning that he’s not here,” and reveals an anecdote about when she first explained her father’s absence to Zen and how she felt at the time. Han Groo also recalls the time when she first honestly confessed her divorce to her children after her divorce in 2022, and says, “Rather, since parents talk about it casually, the children accept it casually,” and shares her experiences as a ‘single mom’, empathizing with Sayuri.
Meanwhile, Kangnam, who is in his 6th year of marriage to former speed skater Lee Sang-hwa, answered his close friends’ question, “Are you really being held captive (by Lee Sang-hwa)?” by saying, “I am being held captive. It was hard in the beginning of our marriage, but in the end, what my wife said was right.” He expressed his affection and deep trust in his wife Lee Sang-hwa. He then said, “I feel reassured every day after getting married,” revealing his recent situation of finding stability after marriage, creating a warm atmosphere. Jeong-in then revealed an episode where she almost couldn’t attend the water birth of her second son in 2019 due to her husband Jo Jung-chi’s athlete’s foot, but was able to dramatically attend with the help of an unexpected tool, making the set burst into laughter.
