Sberbank, Tsifrovaya ekonomika and Skolkovo opposed the law on a single advertising operator

The creation of a single operator of digital advertising structures goes beyond the scope of the legal regulation of the law “On Advertising”, creates the risks of creating a monopoly and disseminating false information on the Internet in violation of the law. This is stated in a letter from ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika sent to State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin on August 5 (Vedomosti got acquainted with its content, a representative of ANO confirmed the authenticity of the document). Letters with a similar position were also sent by Yandex, Sberbank, the Skolkovo Foundation and Avito.

The activities of individuals in the search for counterparties, as well as in the sale or purchase of goods, works and services for personal and domestic purposes, are carried out in accordance with the Constitution and the provisions of the Civil Code, the authors of the letter explain. Thus, they do not fall within the scope of the advertising law. But if the bill is adopted, it will also regulate these areas.
