On September 21st, the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Judge from Hell’ (written by Jo Yi-soo/directed by Park Jin-pyo/produced by Studio S) will premiere. ‘Judge from Hell’ is an action fantasy about good and evil coexisting as Kang Bit-na, a demon who has taken over the body of a judge, meets the humane and passionate detective Han Da-on in a hellish reality and is reborn as a true judge by punishing criminals.
‘Judge from Hell’ is a drama where you can meet a new side of actress Park Shin-hye, and it is garnering much anticipation even before it airs. Park Shin-hye, who has established herself as a ‘box office guarantee’ by presenting various characters, has taken on the role of Kang Bit-na, the main character who has taken over the body of a judge. In the previously released teaser poster and first teaser for ‘Judge from Hell’, Park Shin-hye’s overwhelming presence as a devil left a strong impression.
What is especially noteworthy is that Park Shin-hye is heralding the birth of an evil but lovable anti-hero. In the drama, Kang Bit-na is not an angel but a devil, but she punishes sinners. She shouts “Justice is dead!” without hesitation, but is indignant at devil-like humans and does not choose the means and methods to punish them. The more appealing and intense anti-hero leads “Judge from Hell.”
And this special anti-hero Kang Bit-na character is played by the charming actress Park Shin-hye. To do this, Park Shin-hye went through a drastic transformation in her eyes, expressions, speech, and actions, as well as her visuals. The refreshing catharsis presented by the evil but lovable anti-hero Park Shin-hye is anticipated. Furthermore, it is expected to be a drama with refreshing activities of the main character, following the success formula of SBS’s Friday-Saturday dramas such as ‘The Fiery Priest’ and ‘Taxi Driver’ series.
In relation to this, the production team of ‘Judge from Hell’ said, “The decisive point that makes ‘Judge from Hell’ different from existing cider dramas is the ‘evil but lovable anti-hero’ character. To that extent, the role of the main character Park Shin-hye, who leads the drama, can be said to be important. Park Shin-hye perfectly expressed the charm of the character Kang Bit-na with effort and passion beyond imagination. We ask for much interest and anticipation from viewers.”
SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Judge from Hell’ will air its first and second episodes back-to-back on Saturday, September 21st at 10 PM.
