MCs Shin Dong-yup and Seo Jang-hoon of ‘My Little Old Boy’, which first aired in August 2016 and is now celebrating its 8th anniversary, expressed their feelings in a recent interview, saying, “Time really flies. It’s already the 8th anniversary, so it’s a new feeling.”
Shin Dong-yup said, “There have been many observational entertainment programs so far, but I think the concept of mothers coming to the studio and watching their children’s daily lives was the biggest differentiating point. There are various relationships, such as couples and siblings, but I think the mothers’ curiosity about their children is the greatest. The real and unadorned reactions that come from maternal love have succeeded in appealing to viewers, and that is why ‘My Little Old Boy’ has been able to run this far,” selecting the secret to the program’s longevity.
Seo Jang-hoon said, “Usually on entertainment programs, we joke around and make comments that are a bit harsh to lighten the mood, but since mothers are our children, sometimes they get really upset about the jokes we make. Even though mothers have been on the show for a long time, they are not broadcasters, so we tend to be a bit more careful in that regard.”
Regarding Han Hye-jin’s mother, who recently joined the Mother Avengers, Shin Dong-yup did not spare his praise, saying, “As expected of a top model mother, she is sophisticated and stylish. But in Hongcheon, she also shows the side of a lively country life veteran. She is a character with conflicting charms, and she breathes new life into the Mother Avengers.”
The two MCs then recommended celebrities they would like to see on ‘Miwoo Sae’ in the future. Shin Dong-yup said, “I personally recommend Sung Si-kyung as the ‘NEW Man’s Little Boy’.
