SBS warns against informal loan schemes through App

The Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Fund Administrators (SBS), warned that applications (APP) for money loans are operating in the country that are not registered in the Registry of Companies and Persons that carry out Financial or Exchange Operations of Currency, in charge of the SBS.

The entity specified that 20 virtual applications or platforms have been detected through which money loans are offered and disbursed, either at the user’s request or even without the user having requested them.

He indicated that when the user downloads these applications (App) on his cell phone, they require him to provide personal information and access to the directory of his contacts, as well as collect and monitor information from his cell phone.

He explained that when requiring users to pay the loans, these applications include high charges and interest, and threaten users with informing all their contacts of their supposed debtor status, as well as the attribution of aggravating facts or situations, that violates their honor and instills fear in them.

In this sense, it recommended citizens not to consult or download these applications (App) or similar:
