SC Großengersdorf – Hochmeister’s return crowns transfer program 2024-07-09 03:45:00

After a solid comeback season that took Großengersdorf to ninth place, the Green-Whites are gearing up for the upcoming season with a big name: Thomas Hochmeister is returning to the club where he began his career in 1999. In 2006, he briefly played for the youth team of Deutsch-Wagram, and 17 years and 300 2nd regional league appearances later, the central defender has swapped his SC Wolkersdorf jersey for that of his parent club.

Section leader Christopher Hellmer is delighted: “He wants to put in less effort for family reasons and it also worked out great because we wanted to strengthen our central defense due to a number of absences and departures.” Kevin Wagner is a second experienced Wolkersdorf player who scored twelve goals in the reserves last season. Goalie and official Lukas Mauser arranged this transfer, as did that of Robert Tichy, a Viennese with a lot of experience in the 2nd regional league.

Pöschl and Brenner are coming back

Returnee Raphael Pöschl, who is currently abroad but will be ready to play from October, also landed at SCG. The transfer of Laszlo Auerbach from the Viennese top division team Inzersdorf was particularly strange: “He moved to Deutsch-Wagram and often walked past our pitch. At some point he started training with us,” said Hellmer. Arman Eini, returnee Johannes Hirschvogl and newcomer Manuel Pfandlbauer are more likely to be planned for the reserves.

Patrick Brenner, the former captain who last played in Ulrichskirchen and then took a two-year break, is also returning, somewhat surprisingly. “He said stupid things about coming back when the Grand Master was there. That has now turned into a comeback,” laughed Hellmer. The only small downside: Halim Güles surprisingly announced his departure for Niederleis.
