Kochi: The police have recovered crucial information from the mobile phone of Saiju Thankachan, the accused in the case where Miss Kerala winning models died in an accident. Images and videos of DJs, rave parties and attendees at various locations, including the Fort Kochi No. 18 Hotel, were obtained. It is learned that Saiju Thankachan was involved in abusing girls while intoxicated and police have received footage of several girls from Saiju’s phone. The phone footage confirms Saiju’s discovery that he is the main organizer of after – party after-night parties at several hotels in the district and a drug dealer here.
Saiju Thankachan, who is in police custody, was questioned in detail yesterday. Police said Saiju had revealed all the details about those involved in the phone call. Saiju’s call records and WhatsApp chats are also being checked. The interrogation also confirmed that Saiju had been following the models at night with malicious intent.
During interrogation, it was confirmed that Saiju had threatened the models that they would have to stay overnight at the hotel or at his house and that they had tried to flee the vehicle out of fear of this. Police also seized a luxury car used by Saiju Thankachan to chase the models. Police found a speaker and a measuring cup used for DJ parties.
Today, the police are preparing to question Roy J. Vayalat and Saiju, the owner of Hotel No. 18, together. Police believe Roy, who is in hospital, may be released today. The probe team hopes to find out more by questioning the two together
