Taylor Swift played three concerts in Schalke’s Veltins Arena. The club gave her a very special present for this.
Gelsenkirchen became “Swiftkirchen”: On three consecutive days, music superstar Taylor Swift played concerts in the Schalke football arena in Gelsenkirchen. So that she doesn’t forget her performances in the Schalke stadium so quickly, the club has now helped out.
Schalke gave Swift a striking gift: the newly introduced third jersey for the new season, a custom-made, handmade version. The back of the jersey shows Swift’s favorite number, 13, and her name. However, the number and name are not just printed on, but are made of rhinestones. These were painstakingly glued to the jersey by hand, as a video published by the arena operators shows.
The campaign is based on a Swift song called “Bejeweled”. The club handed over the jersey to the singer’s management.
The Schalke team was also part of the concert series. As a team-building measure, the whole team attended one of the concerts on Friday evening. The players’ partners were also there.
