The Schalke injury list is getting shorter. A defensive stabilizer could return to the team against Frankfurt. According to his own statements, he does not yet know how things will continue for him after the season.

Schalke’s last injured central defender Moritz Jenz is hoping for a comeback in the important Bundesliga game on Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt (3.30 p.m. / Sky). He got over his thigh problems and feels fit again, said the 24-year-old professional soccer player after Schalke’s training session.

The recently injured Henning Matriciani and Cédric Brunner also trained fully again. Goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann is also making progress.

Before the penultimate matchday, Schalke is on the relegation place. “Every game is a final for us now,” said Jenz. He could stabilize the defense after the bitter defeat at Bayern Munich last Saturday. He played his last game to date on April 23rd.

“The 0:6 is ticked off. We analyzed that. It’s out of our heads now,” said Jenz about the Bayern game. Looking ahead to the game against Frankfurt, he said: “We have to show a top mentality. Our fans will give us a lot of energy.” Among other things, the Schalke supporters have planned a major choreography to get the team in the mood.

Jenz, on loan from Lorient, did not want to comment on his future after this season. “It doesn’t bother me that I don’t know where I’m going to play next season,” he said. “Let’s wait for the next two games first.” (dpa)
